COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO, Northampton:
Leicestershire 448-9 & 1-0 beat Northants 250 & 198 by 10 wickets
Leics 23pts, Northants 3pts
Match scorecard

Jigar Naik
Naik picked up seven in the match - for 37 Championship wickets this season

Jigar Naik took 4-58 as Leicestershire ended their season on a winning note with a comfortable 10-wicket victory over Northants at Wantage Road.

Only a 74 run ninth-wicket stand between James Middlebrook (62) and Lee Daggett (48) delayed the inevitable.

Nathan Buck weighed in with three wickets as Northants, who started the day on 10-1, were bowled out for 198.

That levelled the scores, and Matthew Boyce hit the first ball he received to the boundary for four to win it.

The win guarantees Leicestershire, whose coach Tim Boon is set to leave, will finish no lower than fourth in Division Two.
