CLYDESDALE BANK 40 GROUP B, Lord's: Middlesex 196-3 (38.1 ovs) beat Derbyshire 195-9 (40 ovs) by seven wickets Match scorecard
Shah is leaving Middlesex after 16 seasons at Lord's |
Owais Shah marked his final one-day appearance for Middlesex with a half-century to guide his side to a seven-wicket CB 40 win over Derbyshire. Chasing 196 to win, Middlesex soon lost England captain Andrew Strauss. But Scott Newman (90) put on 127 for the second wicket with Shah, who finished unbeaten on 58 as Middlesex got home with 11 balls to spare. Chesney Hughes had earlier top scored with 64 and Graham Wagg made an unbeaten 48 in Derbyshire's 195-9. But Middlesex's victory failed to lift them up the Group B table. They finished sixth, level on points with both Derbyshire and Northants but behind them by virtue of their inferior net run rate.
