CLYDESDALE BANK 40 GROUP C, Grace Road: Kent 185-4 (33.2 ovs) bt Leicestershire 182 (38.1 ovs) by six wickets Match scorecard
Kent kept their slim chances of reaching the CB 40 semi-finals alive with a straightforward six-wicket win over Leicestershire at Grace Road. Only a stand of 79 for the sixth wicket between Matthew Boyce (41) and Tom New (47 not out) held up Kent as Leicestershire were bowled out for 182. Joe Denly (40) and Rob Key (45) got Kent's reply off to a good start. And although they were then wobbling at 112-4, Darren Stevens (42no) and Alex Blake (41no) eased them to victory. Wins for both Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire, who face each other in the final round of matches, mean that Kent now cannot win Group C. But they could finish second by winning their final game at Durham, with an outside chance of claiming a semi-final spot by virtue of being the best runner-up.
