Rain prevented any play on day two of the County Championship clash between Northants and Worcestershire.

After the weather caused the start at Wantage Road to be delayed, umpires Mark Benson and Nick Cook opted to abandon play for the day at 1230 BST.

The first day of the Division Two game was also badly hit by the weather, with only 34.5 overs possible.

In that time Northants made steady progress to reach 96-3, with Stephen Peters unbeaten on 38.
