Heavy overnight rain prevented any play on the third day of Leicestershire's County Championship clash with Surrey.

Umpires Neil Bainton and Vanburn Holder decided no play would be possible at Grace Road even before the scheduled 1100 BST start time.

With only one day left and the hosts only 32-0 in reply to Surrey's 483, the match looks destined to end in a draw.

But that will do little to boost either side's chances of finishing in the top half of the Division Two table.
