Worcestershire won their first CB40 match of the season, thrashing Glamorgan by 178 runs at Worcester.

After a scratchy start, Moeen Ali settled down to score 121 off 105 balls, including four sixes.

Vikram Solanki (51) and Gareth Andrew (66) also added half centuries as the home side piled up 296-5.

In reply, Glamorgan never got going, slumping to 118 all out with only David Brown, Mark Wallace and Nick James reaching double figures.

Moeen began slowly, making just 46 in the opening stand of 105 with Solanki.

However, he then blasted 75 out of 106 with Alexei Kervezee (37) as he accelerated his innings and that of Worcestershire.

Nick James finally removed him but there was more punishment to come for Glamorgan as Andrew scored 66 off just 26 balls, including 24 from the final over.

Glamorgan's reply began disastrously as they lost Will Bragg in the second over and danger man Mark Cosgrove for just eight.

Stand-in skipper Mark Wallace top-scored with 29 as Glamorgan fell well short of their target.
