A century from wicket-keeper Steve Davies drove Surrey to a 66-run win over Unicorns in the CB40 at Wormsley.

Davies' opening partner Rory Hamilton-Brown hit 52 and Stewart Walters scored 78 as the Surrey top order dominated the Unicorns bowling.

The home side raced to 273 for four, with Glen Querl (2-36) taking the wickets of Davies and Jason Roy (8).

In reply, Michael O'Shea scored 65 but steady wickets meant the target slipped away with Unicorns finishing on 208-8.

Davies marked his 100th one-day appearance with his fifth century, despite being dropped by Josh Knappett while on 67.

Jackson Thompson (20) began the Unicorns' reply strongly, striking three offside boundaries in the first over.

But Surrey's Steve Cheetham (4-32) bowled him, and then added the scalp of Chris Murtagh in the 12th over.

Unicorns' resistance was broken when Chris Schofield trapped Knappett lbw and Keith Parsons was run out.

O'Shea and Atiq Christi struck some heavy blows later but Unicorns were too far behind to challenge the total and Surrey kept alive their hopes of a CB40 semi-final berth with the emphatic victory.
