Somerset got over their Twenty20 final disappointment with a crushing 115-run CB 40 win over Lancashire at Taunton. It looked like Somerset were suffering a hangover from Saturday's defeat by Hampshire as they slumped to 68-3. But Nick Compton (59) steadied the ship before James Hildreth (72 not out) and Jos Buttler (64 not out) blasted them to 245-4 in a stand of 98 in 64 balls. Ben Phillips then struck twice early on before Murali Kartik spun his way to 4-30 as Lancashire mustered only 130. Somerset's eighth successive victory in the competition tightened their grip at the top of Group A, opening a four-point lead over second-placed Sussex, who have played a game more.
