James Taylor
Taylor led Leicestershire's response on a rain hit second day

James Taylor hit an unbeaten half-century as Leicestershire closed in on Middlesex's first innings total of 219 on a rain affected second day.

Greg Smith (65) was an early casualty after being caught by Scott Newman off Tim Murtagh in the third over.

But Taylor reached 65 off 160 balls before the wet weather halted the visitors' innings after 39 overs.

With Leicestershire 33 runs behind and with five wickets in hand, play was eventually abandoned at 1630 BST.
