Rain scuppered any prospect of play on day two of the County Championship game at Guildford.

Surrey were due to resume the day on 47-0 in reply to Sussex's first innings total of 217.

Drizzle prevented any play in the first session but play was due to start shortly after lunch after it cleared.

However, the rain returned just before the players were due out and the umpires eventually abandoned the day's play at 1615 BST.
