Wagh celebrated his second first-class century of the summer

Mark Wagh hit an unbeaten century as Nottinghamshire edged day two of their Championship clash with Warwickshire.

Resuming on 18-0 in reply to the Bears' first-innings total of 313 all out, Wagh (122 no) and Chris Read (83) helped the visitors to 373-9.

But their progress was stifled by Warwickshire all-rounder Neil Carter, who had hit an impressive 99 the day before, as he claimed 4-97.

Carter's victims included Alex Hales (53) and Read.

Nottinghamshire had been struggling at 131-5 following a three-wicket spell from Carter which had seen him dismiss opener Samit Patel for a single run, as well as Hales and David Hussey (8).

But Wagh and Read put on a partnership of 156 to leave the visitors with a 60-run lead.
