CLYDESDALE BANK 40, Swansea: Glamorgan 205-7 (39.2 ovs) beat Sussex 203-7 (40 ovs) by three wickets Match scorecard
Allenby faced 74 balls for his 61, hitting nine fours and a six
Jim Allenby hit 61 before Glamorgan survived a late wobble to earn a three-wicket CB 40 win over Sussex.
Allenby, Ben Wright (34) and Mark Wallace (32) had seemingly taken the hosts to the brink of their victory target of 204.
But when Wright and Wallace both fell with four runs required, it was left to Dean Cosker to hit the winning boundary with just four balls remaining.
Earlier, Chris Nash (85) top-scored in Sussex's 203-7.
The visitors made a decent start with Nash scoring his 85 from 88 balls.
However, the loss of four wickets for the addition of just seven runs during the batting powerplay left them struggling to post a strong total. Cosker did most of the damage on his way to recording figures of 4-33.
In their reply, Glamorgan missed the recent good form of Mark Cosgrove, who dislocated a finger while fielding.
Instead, Allenby took up the mantle of chasing the target. However, despite his half-century, Glamorgan found themselves struggling as they entered the final over before Cosker finally sealed the win.
