Sean Ervine produced his best bowling figures in Twenty20 as Hampshire beat Gloucestershire by seven wickets.

Ervine (4-12) was backed up by Chris Wood (2-12) and Dominic Cork (2-9) as the home side were bowled out for 68.

It was the joint second-lowest score in eight years of Twenty20 cricket, only Jon Lewis (19) and Alex Gidman (10) reaching double figures.

James Vince then made 26 in his first Twenty20 game as Hampshire knocked off the runs with 12.3 overs to spare.

Gloucestershire's demise started in the second over when Will Porterfield was run out going for a third in a mix-up with James Franklin.

New Zealander Franklin was one of two wickets in three balls for Wood in the third over, fellow countryman Hamish Marshall also falling to the 19-year-old.

Hampshire lost Australian Daniel Christian to injury two balls into his spell, but wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals and the innings was wrapped up when Cork bowled last man Anthony Ireland.

Steve Kirby struck a double blow for Gloucestershire, when England one-day man Michael Lumb was out for just 6 to continue his poor form in Twenty20 this season before Jimmy Adams also departed cheaply.

But Vince hit six boundaries in his 18-ball knock before being bowled by Vikram Banerjee, leaving Ervine and Neil McKenzie to complete the job.
