Samit Patel's second successive half-century saw Nottinghamshire stay top of the FP t20 North Group with a six-wicket victory over Worcestershire.

Patel hit 63 off 35 balls including five fours and two sixes, as Notts maintained their 100% winning start.

Earlier, Moeen Ali (67) made his highest ever Twenty20 score and stand-in captain Daryl Mitchell 34 not out, as Worcestershire posted 150-7.

But that was not enough to prevent a second loss to Notts in four days.

Dirk Nannes (2-24) and Graeme White (2-27) made sure Worcestershire never posted a challenging total, on a pitch which saw nearly 400 runs scored on it on Friday night.

Nannes, along with the England pair of Stuart Broad (1-24) and Ryan Sidebottom (1-26), conceded only nine boundaries from their 12 overs.

In reply, Alex Hales (15) and Ali Brown (21) hit 26 off the first two overs and when the latter fell to Steven Smith (2-35), the visitors thought they had a chance.

But Patel had other ideas and once he fell to Smith, David Hussey took over to end unbeaten on 34, finishing the match off with a straight six.

Nottinghamshire bowler Dirk Nannes told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"It's been a good start so far but we haven't really been tested as yet.

"So far we can't complain as we've pretty much thrashed every side we have come up against.

"Form is a fluid thing; we've started well but suddenly we might go through a rough trot.

"We'll see what happens, hopefully we won't go through a rough trot but so far it's been fantastic."
