South African Loots Bosman smashed 94 off 50 balls to set Derbyshire on their way to a 65-run Friends Provident t20 win over Yorkshire at Headingley.

Chesney Hughes made 65 and John Sadler was 31 not out off 12 balls as the visitors racked up a T20 county record 222-5, despite Clint McKay taking 4-33.

Jacques Rudolph got Yorkshire's reply off to a flier with 34 off 15 balls.

But wickets fell regularly after he went as the hosts were all out for 157, Herschelle Gibbs top scoring with 36.

Derbyshire's total comfortably beat their previous Twenty20 best of 195-8, also made against Yorkshire at Headingley in 2005, and was the biggest conceded in this form of the game by the Tykes.

And at its centrepiece was a rousing stand of 141 in 12 overs for the second wicket between Bosman and Hughes.

Bosman hit six sixes and nine boundaries in his innings, with Hughes registering four maximums and five fours in his 41-ball knock.

Derbyshire have now won both of their games in this season's Twenty20 competition, while Yorkshire will look to get their campaign up and running at Worcestershire on Friday.
