CLYDESDALE BANK 40, Bath: Somerset 235-9 beat Worcestershire 164 by 71 runs Match scorecard
Somerset celebrate picking up a wicket on the way to victory at Bath |
Craig Kieswetter returned to Somerset's team with a half-century as the Group A leaders maintained their 100% CB40 start to beat Worcestershire at Bath. Zander de Bruyn (55) top scored against his old county, while Kieswetter (52) hit three sixes and Ben Phillips was unbeaten on 51 as Somerset made 235-9. But winless Worcestershire never got close, being bowled out for 164 to suffer a fifth successive CB40 defeat. Paceman Mark Turner (4-36) did most of the damage in front of a 3,000 crowd. On an unpredictable pitch on Bath's annual festival ground, the visitors subsided from 63-1 to 164 all out, as Turner performed a career-best. Having now won all five of their group matches, Somerset already look hot favourites to reach the semi-finals.
