CLYDESDALE BANK 40, The Rose Bowl: Warwickshire 212-3 beat Hampshire 211-8 by seven wickets (Warwickshire 2pts) Match scorecard
Trott has now hit 199 runs in his last two Clydesdale Bank 40 matches
Jonathan Trott led the way again as Warwickshire kept up their blistering start in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
After his match-winning century to beat Durham on Monday, Trott this time weighed in with an unbeaten 96 as the Bears beat Hampshire by seven wickets.
Chasing 211-8 at The Rose Bowl (Neil McKenzie making an unbeaten 62), Trott was well supported by Ian Bell's 71.
They put on 155 for the second wicket to see the Bears to a fourth successive win on 212-3, with 26 balls to spare.
Warwickshire's 100 per start has now nudged them two points clear at the top of Group C.
But it was a third straight defeat for Hampshire and their tame bowling attack.
Trott narrowly missed out on a deserved ton in a perfectly paced innings of controlled aggression and flawless shot selection.
And Bell also gave the England selectors a timely reminder of his knock at almost a run a ball before eventually falling to Rangana Herath with victory in sight.
