Nathan Buck celebrates taking the wicket of Derbyshire's Wayne Madsen |
Young Leicestershire paceman Nathan Buck took a career-best 4-44 to help his side get on top at Derby. The teenager, 19 next week, outshone skipper Matthew Hoggard, who took 3-43 as Derbyshire were bowled out for 207. Two of Derbyshire's South African contingent, Greg Smith and Robin Peterson, both weighed in with 54. But opener Matthew Boyce then hit an unbeaten 40 as Leicestershire closed on 83-2 at the end of the second day, having built a useful lead of 155. Steffan Jones pegged the visitors back by trapping Will Jefferson lbw for six and Paul Nixon played round a straight one from Tim Groenewald. But Boyce and James Taylor batted out the day in bright sunshine to leave Leicestershire well placed with two days to go.
