Derbyshire's bid to stay in the hunt for promotion to Division One was hit by the rain at Uxbridge.

Only 22.1 overs were possible in the day in their meeting with struggling Middlesex, in which time Derbyshire progressed to 72-1.

Skipper Chris Rogers was caught behind for 25 off Tim Murtagh.

But Wayne Madsen (26no) and Garry Park (9no) will still be there when the two teams attempt to start again on time on Wednesday morning (1030 BST).
