HD Ackerman hit an unbeaten 118 as Leicestershire triumphed over Ireland in the battle of the two winless FP Trophy Group A teams at Grace Road.

In a game reduced to 31 overs a side by the weather, Ireland had posted an impressive 197-5, helped by Paul Stirling (80) and Kevin O'Brien (67no).

But Ackerman's second-wicket stand of 107 in little over an hour with James Taylor (48) set Leicester on their way.

The home reached their target of 198 with 12 balls to spare.
