Irishman Eoin Morgan did his England ambitions no harm with an unbeaten 114 on a docile pitch for Middlesex against Leicestershire at Southgate.

After Aussie left-hander Phil Hughes (139) went to three figures following Andrew Strauss's 150 the previous day, Morgan was Middlesex's third centurion.

And, after running up 493-7 declared, Middlesex then reduced the visitors to 161-5 by the close.

Paceman Steve Finn took three wickets, Tom New making 66 for Leicestershire.
