Chris Benham's 79 guided Hampshire to Sunday's four-wicket Friends Provident Trophy victory over Leicestershire. Benham's 100-ball knock steadied Hampshire at Grace Road, who were struggling at 52-3 in pursuit of their target of 239. He shared a fifth-wicket partnership of 73 with Liam Dawson (35), who had earlier claimed figures of 4-48. Matt Boyce (80) and Boeta Dippenaar (65) were the main contributors to Leicestershire's total of 238-6.
Hampshire first XI manager Giles White told BBC Radio Solent: "Chris Benham batted exceptionally, but the whole of the middle order did a good job. "We thought they got too many, and we struggled early on, but we showed a lot of character. "The bowling and fielding was good, we bowled a good line and kept it nice and tight."
