Stuart Broad had a good day with both bat and ball at Trent Bridge

England all-rounder Stuart Broad warmed up for next month's West Indies series as he helped Nottinghamshire run up 505 to take control against Worcestershire.

After hitting 60 in a seventh-wicket century partnership with Chris Read, who top scored with 125, Broad then turned it on with the ball too.

He took all four wickets to fall as the visitors ended the day on 140-4, still needing 215 to avoid the follow-on.

Daryl Mitchell (52no) and Worcs skipper Vikram Solanki both hit half-centuries.
