COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division Two, Kidderminster (day two, close): Worcestershire 265 & 122 v Middlesex 321
Worcestershire look set for defeat against Middlesex despite Gareth Andrew's career-best figures of 5-58. Seamer Andrew was backed up by spinner Gareth Batty who ended with 4-84 as Middlesex were bowled out for 321, which included an Andrew Strauss ton. The Andrew-Batty combination restricted Middlesex to a first-innings lead of 56 but Worcs were bowled out for 122 - setting a target of only 67. Paceman Dirk Nannes ripped the hosts apart with a career-best 6-31. Middlesex began the day on 126-1 in reply to Middlesex's 265 and thanks to Strauss were finally dismissed for 321. Strauss, on 66 overnight, registered his first Championship century for nearly two seasons off 124 balls which included 17 fours.
