COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP Division One, Canterbury, day two (close): Kent v Surrey 0-0
Canterbury was the only county ground to witness play on Friday morning but precisely no runs were scored in 13 balls before the day was abandoned. After the first day washout, Kent chose to field, but Robbie Joseph and Amjad Khan sent down just a maiden each before the rain intensified once again. Like many other teams on a notably wet Friday, both sides had great incentive for points, for contrasting reasons. Kent harbour title hopes but Surrey are 18 points adrift at the bottom.
