NatWest Pro40 D2, Scarborough: Yorkshire 190-3 bt Kent 189-9 by seven wickets
Anthony McGrath led the run chase as Yorkshire got their promotion bid back on track with a seven-wicket win over Kent in Division Two of the Pro40. Chasing a modest 190 to win, Yorkshire found themselves 39-2 after Andrew Gale and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan had fallen. But McGrath eased to a fine unbeaten 85, combining firstly with Jacques Rudolph and then Gerard Brophy, to lead Yorkshire home with 6.9 overs to spare. Darren Stevens made 60 but Kent could only limp to 189-9 from their 40 overs. Richard Pyrah proved the hero with the ball for the hosts with his medium-pacers, taking 4-35 from his eight overs as Kent lost wickets all too regularly. Simon Cook and Justin Kemp were the only other Kent batsmen to make scores of note, but both fell to Pyrah as Kent missed the chance to close the gap on table-toppers Essex.
