David Sales was unbeaten on 99 when bad light ended play with Northants on 212-5 after two days at Gloucester.

Following the first day washout in Bristol, 27 overs were lost at the beginning and end of day two.

When Lance Klusener holed out off David Brown it was 114-5, but Sales shared an unbroken stand of 98 with Andrew Hall, who blasted four boundaries in his 43.

Sales struck 12 fours in a 147-ball innings and is on the verge of his 23rd career ton, his third of the season.
