NATWEST PRO40 Division Two, Derby Kent 63-1 beat Derbyshire 60 by nine wickets
Kent bounced back from the heartbreak of losing Saturday's Lord's final to Essex by handing Derbyshire an embarrassing Pro40 thrashing. Robbie Joseph took a magical 5-13 as Derbyshire opted to bat first at Derby only to be skittled for a feeble 60. Jonathan Clare and Wavell Hinds just scraped into double figures, something no other Derbyshire player managed. Kent needed just 9.4 overs to knock off the runs needed for the victory, with Joe Denly finishing unbeaten on 28. Derbyshire's total was the lowest score they had ever
posted in a one-day match, beating by a single run the 61 they achieved against Hampshire at Portsmouth in 1990.
