Durham and Notts suffered frustration for the second day running as bad weather prevented a start to their Championship game at the Riverside.

The umpires decided conditions were unfit for play early in the afternoon.

And the match between the top two sides in Division One now seems bound to end in a draw.

Both sides are without England stars, Paul Collingwood and Steve Harmison for Durham and Stuart Broad, Ryan Sidebottom and Samit Patel for Notts.

Captain/keeper Chris Read has, however, recovered from a dislocated thumb and will lead the visitors.
