PRO40 DIVISION TWO, Colwyn Bay: Glamorgan 292-6 (39.5 overs) beat Leicestershire 291-5 (40 overs) by four wickets
Mark Wallace's incredible 48 from just 17 balls helped Glamorgan to a dramatic four-wicket win over Leicestershire, despite Jacques du Toit's century. The South African smashed 144 as Leicestershire reached an impressive 291-5 from their 40 overs. Glamorgan began their chase well with Michael Powell (81), but his dismissal at 228-5 saw the innings falter. Needing 64 from the final five overs, Wallace smashed four sixes and five boundaries for an astonishing win. A Glamorgan victory had looked unlikely after Du Toit scored his first one-day century from 119 balls. He shared a 97-run fifth-wicket partnership with compatriot Dillon du Preez, whose 49 came off 23 balls and contained six sixes. Glamorgan, needing 7.3 runs an over, began their response well with David Hemp and Powell taking the challenge on. Tom Maynard (33) and Ben Wright (45) helped to push the total on before Wallace's brutal assault. The defeat leaves Leicestershire without a win in their Pro40 campaign, while Glamorgan have won two out of their three games.
