Glamorgan batsman Jamie Dalrymple hit his first century for three years to frustrate former county Middlesex in their Division Two match at Colwyn Bay.
The former England one-day all-rounder came to the crease with his side struggling at 48-3, but steadied the innings with an assured 103 not out.
He received lower order assistance from Mark Wallace (31) and Dean Cosker (39) as Glamorgan reached 258-9 at stumps.
Danny Evans and Tim Murtagh took three wickets apiece for the visitors.
Dalrymple's last century was ironically against Glamorgan playing for Middlesex at Cardiff in 2005.
He was helped by belligerent knocks from Glamorgan's tailenders, yielding 145 runs from the final three wickets as the Welsh side colelcted two valuable batting points.
Middlesex's seamers had earlier made the most of a damp pitch and humid conditions to cause plenty of problems for the Glamorgan top order.
