Surrey secure win over Derbyshire

NatWest Pro 40 D2, Chesterfield:
Derbyshire 218 all out lost to Surrey 231-9 by 13 runs

Mark Ramprakash followed up his 100th first-class century on Saturday with a match-winning innings as Surrey secured their first Pro40 win of the season.

His 57 from 51 balls helped Surrey reach 231-9 at Chesterfield.

Jade Dernbach (5-31) and Usman Afzaal (4-49) then produced their best one-day figures to seal a 13-run win.

Derbyshire's Rikki Clarke made 44 off 49 balls against his former side, but the last six wickets went for 35 runs as the hosts were all out for 218.

Surrey had lost four wickets in seven overs to slump to 134-5 before Ramprakash strode out and revived their innings.

Derbyshire struggled at the start of their chase but Chris Rogers and Clarke put them back on course by adding 95 in 18 overs.

Clarke's stumping put Surrey back in control and they secured the win with 10 balls to spare.
