HD Ackerman scored his fifth county ton of the season to help his side recover from their early struggles in a Division Two game against Warwickshire.

The hosts had slumped to 79-4 but Ackerman was unbeaten on 173 at the end of the day with the side on 288-6.

Ackerman was given splendid support by 17-year-old Joshua Cobb who made a battling 35 in two-and-a-half hours during a fifth-wicket stand of 139.

The teenager was playing in his first championship game of the season.
