Super White sets up Northants win

Twenty20 Cup, Milton Keynes:
Northants 171 for 4 (18.2 overs) beat Gloucestershire 170-7 (20 overs) by six wickets

Opener Rob White hit an unbeaten 94 from 57 balls as Northants maintained their 100% Twenty20 record with a seven-wicket win over Gloucestershire.

Three wickets in the space of five runs left Northants struggling at 61-4 in reply to the Gladiators' 170-7.

But a 110-run fifth-wicket stand between White and Nicky Boje saw the hosts to 171-4 with 10 balls to spare.

Hamish Marshall (59) top scored for the Gladiators but the New Zealander did not receive enough support.

Gloucestershire had to cope without opener Craig Spearman, who was forced to retire hurt after sustaining a nasty cut from a Johannes van der Wath delivery, which smashed into his helmet.

Despite promising starts from debutant Jackson Thompson (22), Marcus North (30) and Chris Taylor (20), the visitors lost five wickets for 24 runs to stall their progress.

South Africans Boje and Johann Louw collected two wickets each.
