Slow progress at rainy Canterbury

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE, Canterbury
Kent 50-1 v Sussex (Day two, stumps)

Kent closed on 50-1 after their County Championship match with Sussex finally got under way at 1600 BST on day two.

Joe Denly was the only man out as Luke Wright trapped him lbw for 21 shortly before the close at Canterbury.

Scoring proved slow on the wet outfield but Denly and captain Rob Key (23 not out) hit some impressive drives during the time available.

Only 23 overs were bowled in the day as rain and bad light intervened, making it 169 overs already lost in the game.
