Heavy rain frustrates Roses pair

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE
Headingley (day three, stumps): Yorkshire 395 v Lancashire 243-2

Yorkshire and Lancashire lost the entire third day of their Championship game at Headingley to rain, leaving a draw the most likely outcome.

Persistent rain forced umpires Peter Willey and John Steele to abandon play for the day just before 1500 BST.

With one day remaining of the Roses clash, Lancashire will resume on 243-2 on Monday, in reply to Yorkshire's 395.

Paul Horton (137no) and Mohammad Yousuf (93no) have put on 234 - 24 short of Lancashire's record Roses partnership.

That stand of 258 was set by Horton and Stuart Law at the same ground last season.
