COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO Grace Road (day two, stumps): Leicestershire 390 v Glamorgan 99-6
Leicestershire are firmly in control heading into day three of their match against Glamorgan at Grace Road. By the close of play Glamorgan were on a precarious 99-6 after the hosts had earlier posted a first innings 390. HD Ackerman starred with the bat as he hit his fourth Championship century, while fellow South African Jacques du Toit made an eye-catching 63. Dillon du Preez did the damage with the ball as three quick wickets helped the home side establish a 291-run lead. Ackerman (164) eventually fell to a superb delivery from David Harrison but the damage had already been done. A nightmare start to their second innings by Glamorgan saw du Preez claim the wickets of Gareth Rees, Matthew Wood, Michael Powell while superb slip catches from Boeta Dippenaar accounted for the dismissals of Wood, David Hemp and Jamie Dalrymple. James Allenby shattered Mark Wallace's stumps to leave visitors needing a further 142 to avoid the follow on.
