COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE Hove (day one, stumps): Sussex 214 v Durham 10-3 COVERAGE: Full ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Southern Counties
Sussex paceman Corey Collymore captured Michael Di Venuto and night-watchman Mark Davies as Durham made a bad start in replying to Sussex's below par 214. Mark Stoneman also fell to a slip catch off Jason Lewry as the visitors closed on 10-3. It was a good response by defending champions Sussex who were earlier hit by a career best from Ben Harmison of 4-43, while brother Steve claimed 3-35. Sussex chose to bat on a humid morning and soon lost half their side for 79. Opener Chris Nash (75) and debutant Rory Hamilton-Brown (62) shared a six-wicket stand of 84 in 25 overs. But Luke Wright (15) and Robin Martin-Jenkins (22 not out) were the only other batsmen to make double figures.
