Worcestershire eventually bowed out of the Friends Provident trophy after a fourth pitch inspection saw their game against Gloucestershire called off.

The New Road outfit had seen Somerset's tie at Glamorgan abandoned in the morning and needed a win to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

They desperately tried to get their rain-soaked pitch fit for action but play was abandoned at 1545 BST.

Gloucestershire and Somerset now go through to the last eight.
