Foxes tame Ireland to stay top

Leicestershire maintained top spot in the Midlands division with an 81-run success against Ireland at Stormont.

Put into bat, they lost Tom New to the first ball of the match, bowled by West Indian paceman Ravi Rampaul.

South Africans HD Ackerman and Boeta Dippenaar hit fifties, Dippenaar adding 96 with Paul Nixon, who hit a six in 48 from 45 balls in a total of 245-5.

Will Porterfield was the only Irish batsman to prosper, with 65 in 78 balls but they were all out in the 43rd over.
