Peters hit 11 boundaries in his 132-ball innings

A 144-run stand between Riki Wessels and Stephen Peters helped Northants to a five-wicket victory over Warwickshire in the Friends Provident Trophy.

The home side reached 232-8 from their 50 overs, with Jonathan Trott leading the way with 120 from 142 balls.

Left-arm seamer Neil Carter ripped through the Northants top order with three wickets in four deliveries to reduce the visitors to 12-3.

But Peters (97) and Wessels (78) guided the Steelbacks to a comfortable win.
