Worcestershire batsman Daryl Mitchell hit an unbeaten 48 but rain at New Road prevented his side's FP Trophy clash with Somerset reaching a conclusion.

Mitchell's knock helped Worcestershire post a lacklustre 154-8 off 39 overs before the game was abandoned.

After opting to field, Somerset's Charl Willoughby, Steffan Jones and James Hildreth took two wickets each.

Resistance came in the form of Mitchell but the weather denied Worcestershire's bid for a first Trophy win this season.
