County Championship D2, Taunton, day two (close): Somerset 402 & 163-3 v Glamorgan 233
Division Two leaders Somerset piled the pressure on Glamorgan at Taunton as they closed on 163-3 for a lead of 332.
Resuming on 55-1, the visitors were dismissed for 233, a deficit of 169, Richard Grant making 64 and number 10 Andrew Davies a career-best 54.
Charl Willoughby, Steffan Jones and Andy Caddick took three wickets apiece.
Declining to enforce the follow-on, captain Justin Langer opted to build an imposing lead and saw his side reach 163-3, James Hildreth unbeaten on 56.
A two-day finish had looked possible when Glamorgan were reduced to 101-6, Alex Wharf was caught behind attempting an expansive drive off Caddick.
But Grant and Robert Croft staged a recovery, adding 57 before Croft was trapped lbw on the back foot for 23.
Somerset's hopes of racing to a declaration were dashed by teenage bowler James Harris, who continued his impressive form by bowling Neil Edwards (3) with an inswinger and having Marcus Trescothick (13) caught behind.
