He hit three sixes and 12 fours in his total of 90 from 60 balls as the home side overcame the visiting side's total of 211-6 with 10.2 overs to spare.
A failed sweep proved his undoing but by then Notts were closing on victory.
Earlier, the Steelbacks struggled to make quick runs as David Hussey took a career-best 3-26, including the wicket of top-scorer Chris Rogers (58).
David Sales also made a half-century for the visitors but otherwise they had little to shout about.
