Pro 40 Div Two, Headingley:
Yorkshire 184-8 (39.5 overs) beat Middlesex 183-8 (40 overs) by two wickets
Richard Pyrah hit the winning runs with one ball remaining to give Yorkshire a tense two-wicket victory over Middlesex in a Pro40 League Division Two match.
Yorkshire seemed on course for an easy win when they reached 158-3 chasing their target of 184 but they then lost five wickets for just seven runs.
However Pyrah and David Wainwright held their nerve to hit the 12 required from the last over to win it.
Pyrah had earlier taken 3-22 to restrict Middlesex to 183-8.
The visitors never really recovered from losing Ed Joyce in the second over and only a patient unbeaten 54 from number seven Ben Scott, which contained only two fours, took them anywhere near a respectable score.
Craig White and Andrew Gale had given Yorkshire a powerful start with a first wicket stand of 42 in just nine overs but spinners Murali Kartik and Jamie Dalrymple hauled Middlesex back into the game before Tim Murtagh took 3-34 to nearly pull off an unlikely victory.
Yorkshire have now won both their games in the league this season while the result was Middlesex's third defeat in five matches.
