Worcs chief executive Mark Newton has been under pressure |
Worcestershire's Championship game against Lancashire, starting on Friday, will be played at New Road. The decision was taken after officials from both clubs and the England and Wales Cricket Board carried out an inspection at the ground.
Last week's game against Kent was controversially abandoned without a ball being bowled.
But Lancashire chief executive Jim Cumbes said: "I was surprised at how well everything looked."
He added: "It's obvious that the staff at Worcestershire have worked very hard over the last few days to get this ground and its facilities up to the standard they are.
"There were one or two minor issues I had with the outfield, but nothing a couple of days of drying weather won't fix."
The ECB has ordered Worcestershire to replay the game against Kent at the end of the month, a decision which Yorkshire oppose.
They have lost entire days of play in recent games against Lancashire and Warwickshire and say the ECB's decision sets a dangerous precedent.
Lancashire and Hampshire are both backing Yorkshire's appeal.
"It was a flawed decision and creates a precedent, opening the floodgates for future situations deemed 'extreme circumstances'," said a Lancashire statement.
"We therefore urge the ECB to reconsider this decision."
