Kent had struggled to 105-6 with Trent Johnston and John Mooney taking two wickets each before Denly found form, hitting five sixes and seven fours.
In reply to Kent's 231-7, Ireland were 91-7 before Kevin O'Brien (36) and Kyle McCallan (45 not out) came together.
But Simon Cook and Robert Joseph took three wickets apiece as the home side were eventually bowled out for 173.
