County Championship D1, Worcester, day one (close): Worcestershire 110-5 v Durham 313
Prolific Michael Di Venuto scored the first Championship ton of the season but received little support as Durham were bowled out for 313 at New Road.
The Tasmanian left-hander, who achieved the same feat in 2003, struck 25 fours in an unbeaten 155 on his Durham debut, the 40th first-class ton of his career.
Steve Harmison, playing in the same team as his brother Ben, was the next top-scorer with six fours in his 30.
West Indian Ottis Gibson halted a sound start with 3-18 to leave Worcs 110-5.
Di Venuto, who was run out for 99 against Worcestershire when playing for Derbyshire last season, soon lost opening partner Will Smith who was bowled by a full-length ball from another new signing, Doug Bollinger.
The Australian left-armer struck again in his next over when Gordon Muchall nicked to wicket-keeper Steven Davies.
The younger of the Harmison brothers was dismissed for only six when he was bowled offering no stroke by one coming back in from Nadeem Malik.
Phil Mustard helped to add 66 in 15 overs and England paceman Harmison ensured a third batting point with a 23-ball cameo.
Phil Jaques and Stephen Moore added 43 in reply but Jaques edged behind and Moore was caught at first slip.
Ben Smith departed for a duck and Gibson's haul gave Durham a distinct advantage on the opening day.
