Sussex won a low-scoring game in last year's final against Lancs |
Insurance company Friends Provident is to take over as the new sponsors of the county game's 50-over tournament. A three-year 2m deal has been signed for the competition known last season as the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.
A new format has been introduced, with semi-finals brought in after criticism last year over having teams qualify for the final from two groups of 10 teams.
The semis of the Friends Provident Trophy will take place on 20 June, with the final on 18 August at Lord's.
The competition will get underway on Sunday 22 April, when last year's runners-up Lancashire host Worcestershire.
Holders Sussex are not in action until they make a trip to Taunton to face Somerset a week later.
