Warwickshire skipper Darren Maddy set up his side's 12-run Twenty20 Cup win over Northants with a well-paced half-century at Edgbaston.

Maddy struck 51 from 37 balls and put on 90 for the second wicket with Jim Troughton, who made 37 from 29, as the Bears compiled 174-7.

Lance Klusener (32), David Sales (27) and Riki Wessels (23) all contributed at the top of the Northants order.

But Johannes van der Wath's rapid 48 was too little, too late for Northants.
